My dear friend and I we having a conversation about body positivity and self-love. As we both started our fitness journeys- with very different goals.
We start discussing how often people change, but for others. And how that can lead to them being stuck in a toxic position, where they might feel like they’re not good enough or that they need to change “faster”.
As a person who wants to spread positivity, I believe that everyone is beautiful. I believe that they only time someone might need to change is when they want to (or might need to) do it for themselves.
Another thing my friend brought up was how even when you might be changing, it can be toxic. Of course, basic science tells us that anything in big portions can be bad for us. (Apparently, even oxygen!) And I think that when you decide to change yourself or a part of your life, there should be some things that you should keep in mind.
Note: This is just something a friend and I were discussing and we are in no way professionals and of course this might not apply to everyone.
- Why do you want to make this change? Do you think it will help you feel better in your body? Or, maybe might be better for your health?
- Plan it out. Haha, you have probably seen me say this quite a few times and will probably see me say this many, many more times. But, hey give me a break, planning makes me feel better. But, yes it is always good to do something with some sort of plan in your mind so you know what to do.
- Are you doing this for yourself? If you are making this change in order to please someone, maybe re-think that…..
- Set boundaries. Make sure that you do it in controlled ways and don’t go and do dangerous things to yourself.
- Do your research. It is always good to know more about what you are about to do and how you can do it in a safe manner. Tip: Try to get information from trusted people/websites.
Remember that you are loved and will be forever valid. xoxo.

Here’s another calming lofi mix to listen to (if you want to)!
