Okay I lied, I don’t like cooking. I really really don’t. I’m scared of anything that is physically hot and every time I cook I end up not liking what I made.
The only thing I think I’m kinda good at making is pasta, which can get old fast.
But, you know what I want to change that this year and with summer coming up, I’m going to start trying new recipes.
Today, I tried one of those Tiktok tortillas with my own fillings!
There it is in all of its glory! It was honestly so delicious, even though I was terrified that my fillings would not go together. Fortunately, it turned out great!
Although, there are about a gazillion recipes and you can fill it just about anything (a great way to finish those leftovers) here is what I put in mine, in case y’all want some inspiration!
The first thing I put on my tortilla was my veggie mix!
I cut up some bell pepper (red, of course), carrots, and a little bit of plum I had left. I then mixed in some Chipotle mustard and honey mustard in it. And just mixed them all together.
The second little corner had some extra spicy salsa that you can buy from Walmart!
Third I added some leftover idli.
And then some pickles lol.
I topped all the fillings with a little bit of feta cheese and then got to “wrapping” my tortilla.
And basically that was it! It was honestly so easy and so filling, I absolutely loved making this recipe! And, it required absolutely no cooking. I didn’t even heat up my tortilla, only the idli (and that too in the microwave haha).
Even though this was a simple recipe, I absolutely loved making it and eating it! It was an effortless way to start off my day with something fulfilling and delicious.
I am really excited to try more recipes and can’t wait to share them all with you all! Thank you so much for tuning in this week, until next time, Riri.
Hey folks! I hope all of our are doing well and staying safe. I have been trying new hobbies in quarantine so, I wanted to come on here and list some hobbies that I have been trying to get into as part of my journey to find myself.
Note: I know this is bit of a weird topic, but I guess it is what it is.
Sewing.
This may seem like such a grandma thing, but it is actually really fun! And with everything going on, you can make some masks and donate them! (Find a fun hobby AND donate to a good cause, sign me up!) You can also create some pretty unique outfits! (I’m still getting to that part haha.)
Tip- I recently got my machine and all my other supplies, but my biggest tip would be to do your research! By doing that, I was able to get a pretty fairly cheap machine that works amazingly. (Hmm maybe I’ll write a sewing blog post….)
Photography
I have been on and off with this hobby, but I swear it’s really fun! I did take yearbook in middle school where I learned the basics, but you can find some many resources online! There’s so many articles and books on it, which you can read any time. Plus, with all the new technologies and new Iphones coming out every year, you can just use your phone!
Tip- Honestly, unless you are going full on or are already a professional, I would suggest using your phone or an old camera so you can get somewhat of an idea.
Playing a musical instrument.
Although I am no way any good at playing the guitar, I love it! You can easily buy a second-hand (or new) instrument and take a class, buy some books, or find something online.
Even though I am very insecure about my writing, I love doing it! I always write, especially when I am having a bad day. You can just write in some old notebooks or buy a new one and just write!
I recently got into this hobby and honestly it is SO relaxing. You don’t have to design it in an aesthetic manner. Honestly I just make lists on random things (Should I write a journal ideas blog post…hmmm…)
Movie bluff.
This hobby might sound like I’m promoting laziness and whatnot, but it’s fun. Anyone down for a movie marathon?
Reading.
I have also been reading since forever and hey it’s fun AND educational. Depending on what kind of books you read, it can be very educational and help you see other point of views or escape into another world!
Tip- You can borrow free books from libraries (there are online ones too!) or download PDFs. If you do want to buy books, Barnes and Noble is good (but expensive) and so is ThriftBooks (a lot of people have been saying it’s cheap.) Libby is a great online library that I have been using.
Cooking/baking
This is a great hobby where you can learn something new and create food!
Tip- You can find recipes anywhere online.
Jewelry making.
This is a very funny hobby that I have been trying to get into (I actually made some alligator earrings!) Depending on what you need to make, you can find a kit online.
Tip- Make sure to do your research on here too!
Embroidery.
This is also very fun and creative and you can get kits online or in Walmart. It is also a great oppurtunity to create unique outfits for yourself and other people!
Art.
It is great to get your creative juices flowing and there is so much you can do! Like sketching, painting, etc.
Tip- Try to start practicing on the back of old paper to start getting the hang of it!
I hope you all enjoyed this! Please remember that you are loved and will forever be valid. Don’t forget to hydrate and eat a meal or two while you’re at it.
Hey folks! I hope you all are doing well and staying safe. Today I want to talk about how I have been feeling and how I might be trying to help myself.
For the past few months, I have been so overwhelmed and on top of that I have started to feel like I don’t know who I am.
I know that I live with my family, go to school, have great friends, but that;s it. I mean I can’t even ask a simple question like “What’s your favorite color?”
Last year, I was the short girl who got funnier the more you got to know her. I had a new video, new book, new story every day to talk about. I gave all my friends hugs and supported them in every way I could. I was so into psychology and wanted to help people.
Now, I don’t even know the right things to say at times and have been finding myself re-reading or re-watching the same thing over and over and when I do watch or read something, I barely remember. I have barely texted my friends and haven’t picked up a psychology book in months.
So many things are changing, not just in the world, but within me and I have no idea how to cope. My life feels like it’s a constant loop of work and fake smiles. I mean I still do everyday things. I have a whole to-do list of assignments I have to do, watch all sorts of YouTube channels (maybe Netflix shows), and make sure to do what needs to be done.
I am so insecure and doubt myself so much. There are times where I can’t even properly talk about stuff I like or about something from the past, because I won’t know if it’s fake. It is almost like there are two different people living inside of me. I have always loved being the center of attention and loved it when people asked me about me, but now just friends asking me about my day makes me uncomfortable.
Here are some things that I might start doing to help me find myself again.
Note: These are no way recommended to be used in replacement of professional help and are just some things that I want to try to use to help myself. Also, I will be writing another post on an update on the things to see if it helped or not.
Try new things. Since my main problem is the fact that I don’t know much about myself and feel like I don’t have a personality, I will try to try new hobbies and interests that are popular (and preferably cheap). Here are some things that I want to start doing
Watch different genres of TV shows and movies
Try out new hobbies
Try some things my friends like to do (It will bring us together and hopefully help me find new interests.)
Try to do things that I used to like. Although I was (and still am) really insecure, I loved reading and writing. I was very self-conscious about everything that I wrote but it brought me joy. I had amazing ideas and loved writing them down.
I also read some articles on what to do when you’re feeling lost and here are some things I took away –
Note: I am in no way trying to steal the content from those articles. I will leave the links to these articles at the end of the post. Feel free to check them out, if you want :))
Make decisions. Even if it’s small ones, make them.
Make a list of all your favorite things. It can be anything from your favorite color to your favorite to your favorite movies.
I know this was a very out of the blue and short post, but I still hope all of you enjoyed it. Please remember to hydrate and take care of yourself. You are loved and will forever be valid.
Hey folks! I hope all of you are doing well and staying safe. Sorry I haven’t posted for a while, but here I am back again. Anyway, for this post I am going to be talking about things I am going to start doing on a daily basis.
I know this might be a bit of a boring post, but it is what it is I guess. You do not have to do these since these are just things that I want to add into my routine. Feel free to use these inspiration if you all want to :))Journal. This is honestly a great stress reliever for me. I actually used to make lists on random thins when I was younger. It would help calm me down (little me with mood swings was not fun to be around.) and still does to this day, of course I try to make them a little more artistic now.
Plan out my day. Although, I don’t like to write down the times, I love to write down everything that I want to get done that day. I use an old planner where I just draw a bunch of lines and split it between my agenda and to-do list.
Check out my goals. I know I have mentioned this before, but seriously reminding yourself of what you plan on achieving is a great refresher! This may be over the top, but I have a separate notebook for my goals, where I have my weekly and monthly goals written down and how I plan on achieving them.
Talk to a family member/friend. With so much going on, with our personal lives and with the pandemic, it can be hard to talk to people and some people may have cancelled plans with their friends or family, but that doesn’t have to mean that you never talk to them. Even if it is a simple conversation, it’s still nice to reach out.
That’s it for now, but I hope all of you liked this post! Feel free to leave a comment on what are some things you plan on adding in your daily routine, or some things you already have in your daily routine.
Thank you for reading, I hope all of you remember that you re loved and will forever be valid. Don’t forget to hydrate and eat a meal or two while you are at it.
Hey folks! I hope you all are doing and sating safe. Today I wanted to talk about weekly things I am going to try to add my routine.
I have seen so many people that seem to have their lives so organized. They do a mask every Sunday, wash their hair every Monday and I want to join the party too!
Feel free to use these to find some inspiration for your weekly routine or not. These are just some things I want to do personally, so it is your choice if you want to create a weekly routine or not.
Meditate every Monday. Monday is usually one of my less busy days, so I am gonna try to use it to my advantage and meditate and try to calm down.
Play my guitar every Monday. Even though I do try to practice it everyday, I tend to be too busy at times and personally don’t like to play while I’m stressed. So, I am going to start to play every Monday and try to learn a new song (or practice) every week.
Go over my goals every Tuesday. Since school officially starts on Tuesday for me, I am going to go over my goals and set weekly goals to get me prepared for my week.
Clean my desk area every Tuesday. Again, since my week officially begins on Tuesday, I will be trying to clean my desk area since it gets very messy every week. (I can swear I am the only one there.)
Go outside for an hour (or more) every Wednesday. Since I spent most of my time inside in my room studying, studying, and studying, I am going to try to incorporate some sort of outside time for myself. We do live in a complex so, I can just walk around here or go to the park with someone (there’s two right outside my gate.)
Exfoliate every Wednesday. Will help keep my skin healthy and make me feel little less stressed.
Wash my hair every Thursday. Even though I shampoo and condition my hair every three days, I will try to do it every Thursday. Because I tend to lose track of time and usually don’t end up washing my hair (oops.)
Spend some time with my brother every Friday. My brother and I love watching cooking shows or K-dramas so, I love spending some time with him and watching some TV to help me cool down after my stressful week. We also love to do some sill crafts together or color.
Clean my whole room every Saturday. This is a great way for me to relief some more stress and have a clean room!
Do my laundry every Saturday. What can I say, being productive makes me feel better about myself
Do a face mask every Sunday. This will help me get some self-care in and feel relaxed.
Go over my notes and take any quizzes I might need to every Sunday. This helps me refresh my mind and helps me do what I need to do in my own time.
I hope you all liked my post! Feel free to add some thing you want to start doing weekly (only if you want to, of course) and remember that you are loved and will forever be valid.
As you all know, I recently did a blog post on different types of goals (that you can check out by clicking the link). But, that inspired me to write this post.
So, the way that I see that is that weekly goals help us bring one step closer to achieving our goals.
Every Monday (or Sunday) I like to sit down and break down everything and see what I want to achieve this week.
As I said in my previous post, I like to categorize my goals. My main categories include family, educational, school/work, fitness, hobby, and personal (It’s a lot, I know).
So, let’s try to set some weekly goals and plan how we are going to achieve them.
Some of my weekly goals this week are-
Spend an hour every-day with my family without electronics
Contiune to learn Spanish
Get my science grade up
Do yoga every-day
Keep journaling
Dress up more (it makes me feel cute)
I plan on achieving these by making a routine and sticking to it. By pushing myself to stay motivated I now I will be able to get it done.
Another thing you can do is write down your steps or try to include these in your daily to-do list (I personally like to do this). By constantly reminding yourself of what you want to do, you can achieve it.
I know this was a short post, but I hope you like it nonetheless. Feel free to comment some of your weekly goals and how you might plan on achieving them.
Remember that you are loved and will forever be valid. xoxo.
My dear friend and I we having a conversation about body positivity and self-love. As we both started our fitness journeys- with very different goals.
We start discussing how often people change, but for others. And how that can lead to them being stuck in a toxic position, where they might feel like they’re not good enough or that they need to change “faster”.
As a person who wants to spread positivity, I believe that everyone is beautiful. I believe that they only time someone might need to change is when they want to (or might need to) do it for themselves.
Another thing my friend brought up was how even when you might be changing, it can be toxic. Of course, basic science tells us that anything in big portions can be bad for us. (Apparently, even oxygen!) And I think that when you decide to change yourself or a part of your life, there should be some things that you should keep in mind.
Note: This is just something a friend and I were discussing and we are in no way professionals and of course this might not apply to everyone.
Why do you want to make this change? Do you think it will help you feel better in your body? Or, maybe might be better for your health?
Plan it out. Haha, you have probably seen me say this quite a few times and will probably see me say this many, many more times. But, hey give me a break, planning makes me feel better. But, yes it is always good to do something with some sort of plan in your mind so you know what to do.
Are you doing this for yourself? If you are making this change in order to please someone, maybe re-think that…..
Set boundaries. Make sure that you do it in controlled ways and don’t go and do dangerous things to yourself.
Do your research. It is always good to know more about what you are about to do and how you can do it in a safe manner. Tip: Try to get information from trusted people/websites.
Remember that you are loved and will be forever valid. xoxo.
Hey folks, sorry I haven’t been posting much, but I’m back and am gonna try to update as much as I can. Now without much due here we go!
So. a new start to a new month is beginning. Yay!
How are you planning to make the best out of it?
Let’s all come together and plan what we might planned for the coming month. I know for me, personally October is a special month. Aside from the cool weather and all the pumpkin latte flavored things, there’s lots of birthdays -including mine and Halloween!
Its already obvious that I have a lot plan for this month and with so much already planned, how am I gonna keep up with my goals? Will I be able to achieve them?
Yes, I will! I never let a busy or tight schedule determine whether I achieve something or not.
You are allowed to take things slow.
Now, let’s all get our journals and plan!
A few of my goals for this month are- Finish the Halloween book I started and learn how to play the guitar and how to sew. ( I know I’m aiming high, let’s see what I achieve).
One thing I personally like to do is break them down.
I have planned my next few weeks for this month and have set weekly goals for myself to achieve.
Here’s one last thing before we go….daily affirmations! This might not work for everyone but, it does for me. Here a couple i’m gonna be practicing this month-
My pace does not determine my progress
My feelings are valid
My past does not define me
Even a small amount of progress is progress
I am allowed to take a break
I hope you all enjoyed this! Feel free to leave your goals for this month and some affirmations you might be practicing this month! (only if you want)
Remember that you are loved and will forever be valid. I hope you have an amazing day/night and don’t forget to hydrate!
Goals. We all have them, but how many of us actually achieve them?
If you have ever set a goal, but never reached it, do not feel bad. Life is a learning process and we must find a way to learn effectively.
I recently achieved a goal of mine; I redecorated and rearranged my room all by myself (silly goal, I know). It was difficult and did take a hot minute but I did get it done and now I wake up to the sun in my face and have a little corner just for my studies. Honestly, it’s amazing.
Here are some ways I was able to achieve my goal-
Note: These may not necessarily work for you, but it won’t hurt to try (They don’t bite, I promise).
Ask yourself what it is that you want to achieve and imagine the happiness you will feel when you do. Close your eyes (or just tale a moment to sit back) and imagine how you’ll feel when your goal has been achieved. That. That is the feeling of being proud of yourself and being truly happy.
Write/type it out. Write/type out what you want to achieve, the steps you plan to take to achieve said goal, and other things you think might be important to include. (see the picture below for a reference.)
Be consistent. Every-time you sit at your desk or everyday when you wake up, look at what you have written down. Plan your day around it, how can you get one step closer to achieving this? Do whatever you have to do to carry that feeling of being proud yourself in your heart and remember what you have to do, so you do it.
Be your biggest fan. Every little thing you do whether its messing up or getting one step closer to reaching you goal(s), be your biggest fan. Cheer for yourself and just be in so much awe that you did THAT!
One goal i’m working on for next month! (blog on my October goals coming soon 😉)
I hope these tips helped. Please feel free to leave a goal you plan on reaching and how you are going to do that (only if you are comfortable with sharing, of course). I am so proud of you for today and I hope you remember that you are loved and will forever be valid. Have an amazing day/night xoxo.
