I’m back!- Lets Talk About It

Hi, everybody!

I know that I abandoned this blog a few years ago and I apologize. High school has been keeping me busy.

But, it’s my senior year (🥲) and I am feeling more inspiration to write and be creative.

It feels like I’m in a new chapter of my life and I just have so much more to share as I edge closer and closer to becoming an adult.

I have made it a goal to work on myself and balance all aspects of my life.

I’m still new to this journey and I love listening to others’ stories which inspired me to share my own.

I’ll be updating once a week probably on Saturday. I’m not 100% sure about my content, but I’ll share some lessons I learnt that week, obstacles, and just some tips.

Thank you for reading this :))) see you soon!

Being dependent-Let’s Talk About It

Hey folks! I know this may be a but out of a blue, but I wanted to talk about being independent and dependent.

Note: This is no way professional and there is a very high chance of me being wrong. I have just come to this conclusion after some stuff I have been through and what some people I know have been through.

So, I think that as long as you find a healthy balance between being dependent, the effects can be different.

I believe that life is a constant cycle of cause and effect.

Being dependent isn’t necesarily a bad or good thing, you just have to find a balance. Dependecy can be just because of someone’s personality, things they have been through, and other things.

Dependent people are seen as clingy, weak, and other things. (This doesn’t have to be true.)

But, one tip I want to give to everyone is that relying on people comes with risks.

I don’t want to come off as harsh and at the end of the day, it’s fine if you do depend on someone. And I promise that I do not have bad intentions but rather just want what is best for you. Also, please remember that there are always exceptions to everything.

The thing is that when you depend on someone, you start to need them. And the thing is people leave. They manipulate you, break you down, hurt you and so much more.

Not every person will do this but there is a chance.

You put yourself at risk for losing control.

Don’t get me wrong, being in a relationship is great and all, but when they become your reason to live, your source for money, only reason you feel good about yourself, and other things like that it starts to become toxic.

No one owes anyone love, money, satisfaction, etc. (There are exceptions of course, such as parents, guardians, etc) and getting all that not from yourself but from another person can be unhealthy.

If you do rely on a person to make you feel better about yourself, try to work on your self-confidence and bond with yourself. If you rely on a person for happiness, find a hobby or more interests and start to bond with yourself (you’re gonna see me mention that quite a few times.) because at the end of the day you never leave yourself.

The only thing I want you all to remember is that there is always another solution.

You are more than allowed to rely on someone or not rely on someone and if you and that person are safe, healthy, and doing okay, then it’s all good.

Anyway, thank you so much for reading. I’m sorry this post may be a little controversial, offensive, or just downright false. I just wanted to talk about this as it just popped into my head.

Remember that you are loved and will forever be valid. Make sure to stay hydrates and eat a meal or two while you’re at it.

Also, feel free to write your own opinion about being dependent in the comments, but please try to be nice!

Have a great day/night and stay safe!

Hobbies- Let’s Talk About It

Photo by Daniel Maldonado on Pexels.com

Hey folks! I hope all of our are doing well and staying safe. I have been trying new hobbies in quarantine so, I wanted to come on here and list some hobbies that I have been trying to get into as part of my journey to find myself.

Note: I know this is bit of a weird topic, but I guess it is what it is.

  • Sewing.

This may seem like such a grandma thing, but it is actually really fun! And with everything going on, you can make some masks and donate them! (Find a fun hobby AND donate to a good cause, sign me up!) You can also create some pretty unique outfits! (I’m still getting to that part haha.)

Tip- I recently got my machine and all my other supplies, but my biggest tip would be to do your research! By doing that, I was able to get a pretty fairly cheap machine that works amazingly. (Hmm maybe I’ll write a sewing blog post….)

  • Photography

I have been on and off with this hobby, but I swear it’s really fun! I did take yearbook in middle school where I learned the basics, but you can find some many resources online! There’s so many articles and books on it, which you can read any time. Plus, with all the new technologies and new Iphones coming out every year, you can just use your phone!

Tip- Honestly, unless you are going full on or are already a professional, I would suggest using your phone or an old camera so you can get somewhat of an idea.

  • Playing a musical instrument.

Although I am no way any good at playing the guitar, I love it! You can easily buy a second-hand (or new) instrument and take a class, buy some books, or find something online.

Tip- If you already have an instrument (or are planning to buy one) YouTube is your best friend! Just search up your instrument and what want you want to learn. Here is a great YouTube channel for tab tutorials for guitar on trendy songs.

  • Writing.

Even though I am very insecure about my writing, I love doing it! I always write, especially when I am having a bad day. You can just write in some old notebooks or buy a new one and just write!

Tip- If you don’t know what to write about you can try to write something based off your favorite book/movie/TV show or you can find some writing prompts online. (Here is a blog post I wrote on some Halloween-related prompts.)

  • Journaling.

I recently got into this hobby and honestly it is SO relaxing. You don’t have to design it in an aesthetic manner. Honestly I just make lists on random things (Should I write a journal ideas blog post…hmmm…)

  • Movie bluff.

This hobby might sound like I’m promoting laziness and whatnot, but it’s fun. Anyone down for a movie marathon?

  • Reading.

I have also been reading since forever and hey it’s fun AND educational. Depending on what kind of books you read, it can be very educational and help you see other point of views or escape into another world!

Tip- You can borrow free books from libraries (there are online ones too!) or download PDFs. If you do want to buy books, Barnes and Noble is good (but expensive) and so is ThriftBooks (a lot of people have been saying it’s cheap.) Libby is a great online library that I have been using.

  • Cooking/baking

This is a great hobby where you can learn something new and create food!

Tip- You can find recipes anywhere online.

  • Jewelry making.

This is a very funny hobby that I have been trying to get into (I actually made some alligator earrings!) Depending on what you need to make, you can find a kit online.

Tip- Make sure to do your research on here too!

  • Embroidery.

This is also very fun and creative and you can get kits online or in Walmart. It is also a great oppurtunity to create unique outfits for yourself and other people!

  • Art.

It is great to get your creative juices flowing and there is so much you can do! Like sketching, painting, etc.

Tip- Try to start practicing on the back of old paper to start getting the hang of it!

I hope you all enjoyed this! Please remember that you are loved and will forever be valid. Don’t forget to hydrate and eat a meal or two while you’re at it.

Feeling Lost-Let’s talk about it

Photo by Mat Reding on Pexels.com

Hey folks! I hope you all are doing well and staying safe. Today I want to talk about how I have been feeling and how I might be trying to help myself.

For the past few months, I have been so overwhelmed and on top of that I have started to feel like I don’t know who I am.

I know that I live with my family, go to school, have great friends, but that;s it. I mean I can’t even ask a simple question like “What’s your favorite color?”

Last year, I was the short girl who got funnier the more you got to know her. I had a new video, new book, new story every day to talk about. I gave all my friends hugs and supported them in every way I could. I was so into psychology and wanted to help people.

Now, I don’t even know the right things to say at times and have been finding myself re-reading or re-watching the same thing over and over and when I do watch or read something, I barely remember. I have barely texted my friends and haven’t picked up a psychology book in months.

So many things are changing, not just in the world, but within me and I have no idea how to cope. My life feels like it’s a constant loop of work and fake smiles. I mean I still do everyday things. I have a whole to-do list of assignments I have to do, watch all sorts of YouTube channels (maybe Netflix shows), and make sure to do what needs to be done.

I am so insecure and doubt myself so much. There are times where I can’t even properly talk about stuff I like or about something from the past, because I won’t know if it’s fake. It is almost like there are two different people living inside of me. I have always loved being the center of attention and loved it when people asked me about me, but now just friends asking me about my day makes me uncomfortable.

Here are some things that I might start doing to help me find myself again.

Note: These are no way recommended to be used in replacement of professional help and are just some things that I want to try to use to help myself. Also, I will be writing another post on an update on the things to see if it helped or not.

  • Try new things. Since my main problem is the fact that I don’t know much about myself and feel like I don’t have a personality, I will try to try new hobbies and interests that are popular (and preferably cheap). Here are some things that I want to start doing
  1. Watch different genres of TV shows and movies
  2. Try out new hobbies
  3. Try some things my friends like to do (It will bring us together and hopefully help me find new interests.)
  • Try to do things that I used to like. Although I was (and still am) really insecure, I loved reading and writing. I was very self-conscious about everything that I wrote but it brought me joy. I had amazing ideas and loved writing them down.

I also read some articles on what to do when you’re feeling lost and here are some things I took away –

Note: I am in no way trying to steal the content from those articles. I will leave the links to these articles at the end of the post. Feel free to check them out, if you want :))

  • Make decisions. Even if it’s small ones, make them.
  • Make a list of all your favorite things. It can be anything from your favorite color to your favorite to your favorite movies.

I know this was a very out of the blue and short post, but I still hope all of you enjoyed it. Please remember to hydrate and take care of yourself. You are loved and will forever be valid.

Here is the link to the article I read.

Daily Activities- Let’s talk about it

Hey folks! I hope all of you are doing well and staying safe. Sorry I haven’t posted for a while, but here I am back again. Anyway, for this post I am going to be talking about things I am going to start doing on a daily basis.

I know this might be a bit of a boring post, but it is what it is I guess. You do not have to do these since these are just things that I want to add into my routine. Feel free to use these inspiration if you all want to :))Journal. This is honestly a great stress reliever for me. I actually used to make lists on random thins when I was younger. It would help calm me down (little me with mood swings was not fun to be around.) and still does to this day, of course I try to make them a little more artistic now.

  • Plan out my day. Although, I don’t like to write down the times, I love to write down everything that I want to get done that day. I use an old planner where I just draw a bunch of lines and split it between my agenda and to-do list.
  • Check out my goals. I know I have mentioned this before, but seriously reminding yourself of what you plan on achieving is a great refresher! This may be over the top, but I have a separate notebook for my goals, where I have my weekly and monthly goals written down and how I plan on achieving them.
  • Practice some sort of self-care. As I said in one of my older posts, self-care can be as simple as taking a shower. Even if I may not be able to do a face mask or something, I try my best to at least take a shower or even just take a minute (or a few minutes) to take a breather and do something I like.
  • Talk to a family member/friend. With so much going on, with our personal lives and with the pandemic, it can be hard to talk to people and some people may have cancelled plans with their friends or family, but that doesn’t have to mean that you never talk to them. Even if it is a simple conversation, it’s still nice to reach out.

That’s it for now, but I hope all of you liked this post! Feel free to leave a comment on what are some things you plan on adding in your daily routine, or some things you already have in your daily routine.

Thank you for reading, I hope all of you remember that you re loved and will forever be valid. Don’t forget to hydrate and eat a meal or two while you are at it.

Weekly activities-Let’s talk about it

Photo by Jess Bailey Designs on Pexels.com

Hey folks! I hope you all are doing and sating safe. Today I wanted to talk about weekly things I am going to try to add my routine.

I have seen so many people that seem to have their lives so organized. They do a mask every Sunday, wash their hair every Monday and I want to join the party too!

Feel free to use these to find some inspiration for your weekly routine or not. These are just some things I want to do personally, so it is your choice if you want to create a weekly routine or not.

  • Meditate every Monday. Monday is usually one of my less busy days, so I am gonna try to use it to my advantage and meditate and try to calm down.
  • Play my guitar every Monday. Even though I do try to practice it everyday, I tend to be too busy at times and personally don’t like to play while I’m stressed. So, I am going to start to play every Monday and try to learn a new song (or practice) every week.
  • Go over my goals every Tuesday. Since school officially starts on Tuesday for me, I am going to go over my goals and set weekly goals to get me prepared for my week.
  • Clean my desk area every Tuesday. Again, since my week officially begins on Tuesday, I will be trying to clean my desk area since it gets very messy every week. (I can swear I am the only one there.)
  • Go outside for an hour (or more) every Wednesday. Since I spent most of my time inside in my room studying, studying, and studying, I am going to try to incorporate some sort of outside time for myself. We do live in a complex so, I can just walk around here or go to the park with someone (there’s two right outside my gate.)
  • Exfoliate every Wednesday. Will help keep my skin healthy and make me feel little less stressed.
  • Wash my hair every Thursday. Even though I shampoo and condition my hair every three days, I will try to do it every Thursday. Because I tend to lose track of time and usually don’t end up washing my hair (oops.)
  • Spend some time with my brother every Friday. My brother and I love watching cooking shows or K-dramas so, I love spending some time with him and watching some TV to help me cool down after my stressful week. We also love to do some sill crafts together or color.
  • Clean my whole room every Saturday. This is a great way for me to relief some more stress and have a clean room!
  • Do my laundry every Saturday. What can I say, being productive makes me feel better about myself
  • Do a face mask every Sunday. This will help me get some self-care in and feel relaxed.
  • Go over my notes and take any quizzes I might need to every Sunday. This helps me refresh my mind and helps me do what I need to do in my own time.

I hope you all liked my post! Feel free to add some thing you want to start doing weekly (only if you want to, of course) and remember that you are loved and will forever be valid.

De stressing-Let’s talk about it

Hey folks, I know it has been a hot minute since I came on here, but I’m here!

I have been so busy lately, so I have been trying to find new ways to de-stress. So, here are some things I have practiced, that I hope helps you too.

Note: These may not work for everyone and are just some things I have been doing personally. This is no way recommended to replace anything by professionals.

  • Put on some relaxing music. I know for me personally listening to music that makes me feel relaxed or happy helps me feel better.
  • Write down how you are feeling. This is one of my most favorite things to do. I love writing in my diary after a long day of nothing but work.
  • Change your scenery. I know for me personally, I tend to get very stressed and burn out easily after completing just one test, so whenever I find myself not being able to focus or feeling stressed, I just get up and go to a different part of my room for a bit.
  • Take care of yourself. This sounds cliche, but I seriously recommend it. Whenever I’m feeling all gross and unmotivated, I wash my facial, maybe put on a face mask, or take a shower and wear my favorite hoodie or over-sized shirt.
  • Clean your surroundings. This one may only be for some people, but I know I love cleaning and often clean whenever I have a bad day. But, even if I don’t do that, I like to clean at least my desk area, so I have a clean place to get work done. Plus, with the right music, anything can be fun.
  • Talk. One thing that I recommend to my friends and family is to talk to other people. Regardless of what it is. Try ranting about what’s going on or about your favorite TV show. (I will be listing some resources where you can talk to professionals and other people that might be going through the same thing at the end of the blog.)
  • Read a book or watch a new show. This is actually how my obsession with Gordon Ramsay started. Whenever I have a bad day, I change into my favorite hoodie, grab some snacks and water, and put on some sort of TV show.
  • Remind yourself how awesome you are. Sometimes all we need (and can afford to do) is remind ourselves of how far we have come and how no matter what the circumstances, we will get through this.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you all enjoyed this and find it to be helpful. Here are some resources for anyone who might be struggling or just wants someone to talk to-

Crisis line

Disaster Distress Hotline

Emotion Anonymous

I know these are a few, I just do now want to link websites that I have heard aren’t that useful since I only want what is best for all of you. I have been recommended these resources by people I trust and I have even reached out to the crisis line (they are helpful, but are just there to show you to helpful sources.)

If you all want, I can do some more research and try to find more helpful resources and tips to help cope with mental health.

Feel free to leave some resources down below or some things you might do to de-stress.

Remember that you are loved and will forever be valid. If you ever need to talk feel free to DM me here or on insta @you_arelovedtodayandforver.

Self-care- Let’s talk about it

Photo by Madison Inouye on Pexels.com

Hey folks, I hope you all are doing alright and that life is treating you well.

Today, I wanted to talk about self-care and give you all some ideas on how to practice it.

Merriam-Webster defines self-care as, “care for oneself”

I completely agree, you know since it is a legit website. To me, self-care is supposed to help you relax, but sometimes it could be things that we might not to do. Of course, with such busy schedules and daily activities that we all have to complete it can be hard to relax or even take care of yourself.

Self-care does not have to be extradionory or luxurious. It can be simple and the most basic of things.

Self-care can also be practiced anytime and any-day. It does not have to be practiced every-day either, just whenever you feel like you might need it or when you have the time.

Self-care shouldn’t be something that makes you more stressed.

Now, here are some ideas-

Note: These may not work for everybody and I am in no way trying to recommend this in replacement of a professional or anything professionals may recommend

  • Take a relaxing bath and maybe even use a body scrub or your favorite scented soap
  • Watch your favorite movie/tv show or read your favorite book
  • Write down how you are feeling or things you are grateful for
  • Call up a family member or a friend
  • Cook yourself your favorite meal or order in
  • Play your favorite music
  • Go for a run/walk/jog and clear your head
  • Clean your room or house-sometimes a clean environment can help us feel better plus you”ll feel more accomplished
  • Throw a dance party
  • Dress up in your favorite outfit(s) and take pictures of yourself to remind yourself how beautiful you are and how you deserve the world
  • Do your skin-care routine
  • Take a nap
  • Meditate or do some yoga

Here are some relaxing music you can listen to to help you relax, if you wan to :)) (There are also some videos you can watch that have relaxing music and donate to a good cause.)

I hope you all enjoyed this post, feel free to leave some self-care suggestions down below or what more you would like to see here. Remember that you are loved and will forever be valid. xoxo.

Weekly goals- Let’s talk about it

Photo by Lisa Fotios on Pexels.com

As you all know, I recently did a blog post on different types of goals (that you can check out by clicking the link). But, that inspired me to write this post.

So, the way that I see that is that weekly goals help us bring one step closer to achieving our goals.

Every Monday (or Sunday) I like to sit down and break down everything and see what I want to achieve this week.

As I said in my previous post, I like to categorize my goals. My main categories include family, educational, school/work, fitness, hobby, and personal (It’s a lot, I know).

So, let’s try to set some weekly goals and plan how we are going to achieve them.

Some of my weekly goals this week are-

  • Spend an hour every-day with my family without electronics
  • Contiune to learn Spanish
  • Get my science grade up
  • Do yoga every-day
  • Keep journaling
  • Dress up more (it makes me feel cute)

I plan on achieving these by making a routine and sticking to it. By pushing myself to stay motivated I now I will be able to get it done.

Another thing you can do is write down your steps or try to include these in your daily to-do list (I personally like to do this). By constantly reminding yourself of what you want to do, you can achieve it.

I know this was a short post, but I hope you like it nonetheless. Feel free to comment some of your weekly goals and how you might plan on achieving them.

Remember that you are loved and will forever be valid. xoxo.

Changing, but for you- Let’s talk about it

Photo by Kate Trifo on Pexels.com

My dear friend and I we having a conversation about body positivity and self-love. As we both started our fitness journeys- with very different goals.

We start discussing how often people change, but for others. And how that can lead to them being stuck in a toxic position, where they might feel like they’re not good enough or that they need to change “faster”.

As a person who wants to spread positivity, I believe that everyone is beautiful. I believe that they only time someone might need to change is when they want to (or might need to) do it for themselves.

Another thing my friend brought up was how even when you might be changing, it can be toxic. Of course, basic science tells us that anything in big portions can be bad for us. (Apparently, even oxygen!) And I think that when you decide to change yourself or a part of your life, there should be some things that you should keep in mind.

Note: This is just something a friend and I were discussing and we are in no way professionals and of course this might not apply to everyone.

  • Why do you want to make this change? Do you think it will help you feel better in your body? Or, maybe might be better for your health?
  • Plan it out. Haha, you have probably seen me say this quite a few times and will probably see me say this many, many more times. But, hey give me a break, planning makes me feel better. But, yes it is always good to do something with some sort of plan in your mind so you know what to do.
  • Are you doing this for yourself? If you are making this change in order to please someone, maybe re-think that…..
  • Set boundaries. Make sure that you do it in controlled ways and don’t go and do dangerous things to yourself.
  • Do your research. It is always good to know more about what you are about to do and how you can do it in a safe manner. Tip: Try to get information from trusted people/websites.

Remember that you are loved and will be forever valid. xoxo.
